Now that the election is safely behind us…
Arts & Letters Daily linked to my Frankenstein story yesterday. Please take a look if you’re in a textual-scholarship mood. The TLS also has a review up of Charles Robinson’s new edition; their take focuses more on the novel’s back story (cold, rainy summer on the shores of Lake Geneva, Lord Byron’s challenge to the party to come up with ghost stories, etc.) and on its reception history.

Great story, Jennifer — I linked to it. Ever seen Ken Russell’s movie “Gothic” about that laudanum-fueled night that inspired Shelley’s novel? Nutty, nutty, nutty. Only movie I know of where you get to watch Lord Byron get a blow job AND watch tits turn into eyes. No self-respecting English teacher will ever air it but it’s a true guilty pleasure.

Thanks, Rodney!
I think I need to add “Gothic” to my Netflix queue.
